Getting To Know Your IMS Wrestling Team

The News Team Interviewed Two Important IMS Wrestlers.

To start off the IMS wrestling season, I decided to interview some of the leading members of the wrestling team.

First, I interviewed Aracelys Bundesmann, a seventh grader who has been doing wrestling for 1 year and makes a big impact on the team in a very positive way. Here is my conversation with Bundesmann

Livi: “What made you want to join the team?”

Bundesmann: “I was on a trip, and a family friend said that she was going to go into the international league for wrestling. She showed me how to wrestle, I thought ‘Wow this is really cool! I should join the team at school.’ ”

Livi: “What do you enjoy most about wrestling?”

Bundesmann: “When I win, it’s just a really exciting moment to me, and it’s like winning a gold medal, but you don’t have any physical means of holding the medal. The physical means is just to high-five your partner and to be a good sport. Also I highly recommend wrestling, but the practices are everyday.”

I also had another conversation with the team captain, Balen McCarthy. He has been a strong leading captain for a solid 3 years. Along with wrestling, he also runs, skis and plays soccer, and a great team player.

Livi: “What made you get into wrestling?”

McCarthy: “I wanted some extra training and reps for the upcoming soccer season.”

Livi: “What makes you enjoy wrestling the most?”

McCarthy: “The fact that you’ve done more training than your competitors is a great factor for the momentum to win.”

I think that this proves that the IMS wrestling team will be a strong competitor this season and we hope you can catch a match!
