After nearly three weeks the U.S. House of Representatives has found a new speaker. We first brought you the story of Kevin McCarthy getting voted out on Oct. 4, and now after 2 weeks, 6 days, and 3 candidates, The House has finally found a new speaker. The person in question being Republican, Mike Johnson of Louisiana, he has on October 25 become the 56th Speaker of The House. Johnson won speakership over democrat Hakeem Jeffries by a whopping 11 votes.
Mr. Johnson is an engineer of the plan to overturn the 2020 election, and a religious conservative. He is also opposed to abortion rights, homosexuality, and gay marriage. This vote also placed him second in line for presidency and the first speaker to be elected after another had resigned.
Some of Mr. Johnson’s goals are: send aid to Israel and to restore the people’s faith in the House of Representatives. Some of his previous roles are on Donald J. Trump’s impeachment defense team, he is a representative of Louisiana’s 4th district, and was Vice Chairman of the House Republican Conference.
