Ever since the first law supporting the freedom of the press passed in Sweden in December of 1766. There have always been those people who have never liked what the press is writing, some of those people have gone to great lengths to make sure their demands are met. Here is one of those stories.
New Delhi, India- Indian Police launched a fresh bout of raids on offices of news websites, which are under investigation for supposedly getting funds from China, as well as some of the homes of said journalists. Many critics describe this as an attack on some of India’s few remaining independent news outlets.
These raids have come months after police raided the BBC’s New Delhi and Mumbai offices of tax evasion in.
One of the news outlets targeted was NewsClick, founded in 2009, it is one of the rare Indian newspapers to criticize Minister Narendra Modi’s. This organization was registered under criminal charges after an Aug. 17 New York Times report that said they had received funds from an American millionaire who, The Time, says has funded “Chinese propaganda” but NewsClick has denied the accusation.
